Simcoon.set_initial_statev(assembly, label, value)

Set a labeled initial state-variable field on an assembly.

A scalar is broadcast over all selected components and Gauss points. For a multi-component label, a component vector is broadcast over the Gauss points. A complete field uses the Fedoo layout (n_components, n_gauss_points). For a scalar label, a vector of length n_gauss_points supplies one value per point.

This method must be called before the associated problem initializes. Repeated calls preserve components initialized previously.

Parameters:

  • assembly (Assembly) – Assembly that will own the initial state.

  • label (str) – Entry in statev_label.

  • value (scalar or array_like) – Uniform, component-wise, or Gauss-point initial values.

Returns:

This material, to allow chained configuration calls.
