BeamProperties.get_stress(assembly, position=None)

Recover local stress at normalized points, defaulting to output_points.

Returns a tensor with shape (6, n_section_points, n_beam_gauss_points). This method does not reduce section points. Dataset reads use beam_options and default to componentwise largest magnitudes for a full tensor. Its components may come from different section points. Requested scalar invariants are computed before reduction; invariants of an already reduced tensor are not guaranteed conservative.
